VW Golf 1997 GL

I have a dragon green 1997 GL and just purchased a new head unit for the vehicle, plan on installing it myself, anything I should watch out for? And are there any guides online? Would be great if someone could list or recommend some good speakers that are suitable and good in a golf. Thanks in advance :)

Shouldn't be any problems. Follow the instructions with the head unit and you should be alright. They're not very complicated cars.
