Thanks guys beetles make good drag cars.
Actually the beetle has just under gone a resto and even though it looks like a cruiser it actually has a 2.1 and goes very well ;)
It takes getting used to with the TT as I have put Brembo's on it and on the beetle i still have drums all round lol!

You should post up Shazza's resto progress
Hi Costa, I often see a very cool Beetle with bags or something similarly crazy as it looks like it would hate speed bumps or potholes. A greenish colour, rear venetian but no hubcaps. What do you call a rat beetle? A lot rougher than yours.
Often seen along Pennant Hills Rd. Is it a close relative of your own one?
You are the one selling VW badges for our keys, on a forum or two, right?
Hey Costa!
Welcome to the forum.
Awesome cars

I may know it and yes its a rat.
Although last week i was re painting my wheels and my coilpacks crapped themselves in the TT this week so i had to get around in the beetle without hubcaps and didnt have time to remove the masking tape and newspaper so it gave it a rat look but the paint and interior still was turning heads in the traffic this week.
Yes i will post pics of the resto in progress.
I also went to see Shazza (the beetle) Hollywood debut tonight at the cinema in the movie "Accidents Happen" with Geena Davis. Shazza and i made an appearance for 15 seconds!
I will also post pics of filming as well :)

I bought her in 2001 for $800 and she looked like this:
http://home.people.net.au/~xxx18t/images/firstshazza.JPG
Then slowly slowly i started modding her by adding things like a 2110, slamming her, and whitewalls.
Which made her look like this for the next 8 years:

http://www.tyresmoke.net/albums/album60/IMG_9171.jpg
But then slowly slowly the rust started to invade the A pillars, passenger door, and bonnet. After a trips back from LA armed with a TMI interior kit i decided the car to get a full respray along with the interior kit being installed.
Due to budget constraints i couldnt go all out on the resto but i plan to do a off the floor pan resto in 15 years when my son is old enough to drive.
Adam from Raw Autowerks did the work and i am over the moon:
