Hi guys,
I have had this issue for a few weeks now. I have an auto 1999 MK4 Golf. When in drive it often gets stuck in 3rd gear. Cannot make it to top and does not go back down when stopping. The dash gear indicator in the instrument panel indicates all gears are selected simultaneously.
Has anyone had this repaired in Sydney?
This problem is noted by the wikipedia write up below;

Is VW Village the place to go? Do VW specialist charge more than other mechanics to fix? Can I do it myself?
