Niiiice. I had a set of 3-piece wheels once, was way too scared to pull them apart! I've always been curious about taking these apart in order to paint them (their faces). How do you know what torque to be putting them back together again with?

I didn't know myself either - I googled it and it brought me to wheel-whores.com. I've found that for BBS RS, the wheel bolts should be torqued down to 22-24 ft lbs. I've also read that you can figure out the torque rating according to the thread diameter, but that applied to wheel studs (M12 = 80-85 ft lb, M14 = 85-90 ft lb, M16 = 90-95 ft lb etc). I don't know how well that will translate for wheel bolts that hold the wheel pieces together though.

It was a bit daunting at first, taking apart what seems to be the most fundamental thing that allows a car to move smoothly, but just follow the trillions of guides out there and heed all the tips you find and you'll be fine. I love building shit for myself and personally, putting together 3-piece wheels after giving them a good ol' refurbishing is pretty much up there in terms of self-satisfaction when it comes down to being a car enthusiast. I've got a random BBS RS wheel I picked up for $20 from Upgarage a while back - it'll either become a coffee table, door stop or clock when I have the time!

So you hear how when you really really REALLY want something you just have to go and visualise yourself getting that thing? Well last week I dug out my Puma MY6 and started wearing them again and was thinking how I should have bought more than 1 pair back in 2003!!!

Well went to drive my other half for her eyelash appointment at an ungodly time of 9am yesterday, decided to go visit the Puma shop on Chapel St. Store wasn't open as it was too early, but there were ppl lining up in front. I had no idea why, but found out the first 10 ppl who got there and spent over $200 would get a free VIP ticket to Future Music Festival 2010. I wasn't keen on going but some guy further up the line offered me money for my ticket...store opened and I found a pair of sample MY6's there. Also picked up a pair of MY47's, both for $100 each. So with the cash off the ticket I sold, basically almost got free shoes!

mate they are hub centric rings for the inside of my rims... basically Jap rims typically have a bigger centre hub bore and to get rims to sit directly on the hub rather then just the bolts, you get the above being a hub centric ring to fill the differnce... So outer diameter of the centre bore is 73mm and our hub size is 57.1mm so this is the rind dimensions!!! does that make sense?

almost Andrew. part of it was down to the previous owner fitting the wrong pipe which had a massive diameter off the headers which resulted in no back pressure and no low down torque. the new pipe has cured the lack of low down torque and most of the flat spots in the rev range. that said there is still one at 12k but its not as pronouced. im planning on re-jetting the carbies soon which should smooth out the whole powerband and give me a few more HP too!

Was afraid to look at this thread after seeing those headphone stands last time (once again forums are dangerous to my bank balance!). We have the red drawers rather than the cupboard on our expedit and also using the cloth boxes for storage of car cleaning stuff =)

I've also turned one of the bottom level "cubes" into a dog bed with pillows and blankets for the pup. Definitely a must have piece of furniture!

Nar all cool thanks John, especially with headphones though they aren't IEM's I would prefer brand spankers. Onlu $1,500 from audiophile.com.au, but may source them from overseas. Just got to factor in the right amp etc as well. With future plans I don't think it would be practical to get a 2.1 pure music system for my "music room".

Yeah I got that one as well. But it wasn't as "limited" as it should have been. This one is supposedly more limited...haha.

I've also pre ordered that edition of GT5. Personally I don't think it's worth the ridiculous price they're charging, just for a scale model SLS (which is too small and in the wrong colour), leather wallet, keyring, coffee table book and whatever else is in it. But I managed to accumulate some trade bait I did earlier in the year, and along with a few gift cards, it's going to cost me significantly less. Score! :D

I played in something like this at the Toyota Museum in Japan where they had GT4 hooked up.....when u press the brakes, the seat jerks forward, accelerate, jerks back....just like a real car. and even when u go off the track onto gravel or dirt, it simulates the bumps too. Was pretty cool!

I opted for the PC version rather than the PS3/X-box because the software used is pretty much the same as what Redbull uses and depicts a very accurate of some of the race tracks driven around the world. The PC version also allows you to upgrade to better things like the motion motor, 3 LCD displays, the in-dash indicators, HRT shift gears et al. YEs Stephen, apparently the motion motor on this simulator is so real and it does everything you mentioned. I cant wait.

Jose, that one in the pic, the McLaren Mercedes colour scheme looks good I have to say. The RBR colour scheme of indigo, red, and yellow would also look good too IMO. Something about Ferrari says that it would be too red for my liking but hey, im not the one buying >D And as you said, you should whatever colour that goes well with your game room.
