Comfortline DSG as good as DSG in GTI/R32?

Sorry for being so noob. But I've just had a look at MKV's on carsales and I've noticed there are a lot of cars listed as "Tip-Tronic" and there are a few listed as DSG.

I'm getting a little confused.

I know there are automatic Golfs, but were there also Tip-Tronic ones as well as DSG or are the ones listed as "Tip-Tronic" wrongly listed and in fact they are DSG's.

Also: Is the DSG gearbox in the Comfortline as good as the DSG in the GTI and R32?

there are a few tiptronic ones. i recall at the early days, normal golf had tiptronics while Diesel, GTI and R32 have DSG.

that was until the introduction of the 7sp dry clutch and VW started switching over.

whether DSG in the lower Golf is as good as the GTI/R32, obviously the program would be different as well as 7sp dry clutch vs 6sp wet clutch (which can handle more torque).

Tip-Tronics or R-Tronics in the VAG world usually means non-DSG gear boxes meaning its your standard auto gear box(non-dual clutch), I think...

Get a TDI diesel if you don't want to get a GTI or R32 (or a Jetta TDI DSG if you want more bling and a boot!).

Just drive a few different options. I love the poke of the TDI from even quite low speeds/revs for quick bursts of overtaking speed, without having to rev the life out of the car.
Worth considering!

Otherwise get a GTI!
