i think this sort of tragedy makes everyone take a look at themselves. makes you realise what is really important in life. a car is a car...a pile of metal, electronics and oil. a human life is worth so much more than a car. it takes up to 25 hours to make a car. its takes a lot more time to make a human. please everyone remember that when you get behind the wheel.

He was a very nice guy. I didn't get to know him well, but have had a chat with him a couple of times. This is tragic! Really upset me this morning to see this all over the news. OPH claims another life. Please guys, if you want to go fast, do it on a race track. He was wayyy to young to go. R.I.P

As real as it gets guys.
I know some of you love the twisties and driving your cars hard but please remember anything can happen when you're pushing your car out on the streets. If you get a kick out of driving fast then please consider going to track days where you can speed off the streets, lose control and not hit a tree or an oncoming car.
Condolences to his friends and family, they were young and this is a horrible way to leave.

I feel sad to say that this is just the kind of wake up call some people might need. We all enjoy the odd squirt of power, taking that corner one second later, squeezing the throttle just that little bit harder, but seriously - when it hits home (and considering that a fair few people knew the guys who were involved, hits hard) it serves as a reminder that while it's fun and thrilling and all that, it's not a particularly difficult thing to get wrong. With irreversible consequences, to boot. RIP and condolences.

I actually drove past the accident, I travel down the OPH weekly.
I know exactly that bend it happened on, it's a tricky one if your not expecting it, especially at night! I respect that part of the OPH, it's truly is a black run in skiing terms...
So many motorbikes fail on that bend.

.
concur...the roads camber wrong, full of pot holes, tight exits...
i remember going to the gti track day last year and james brock using the white knuckle analogy...if you have the white knuckles you are going way too hard.

This does hit close to home. Don't want to say this, but we can all take something away from this tragedy and consider it next time we decided to "give it a bit of stick". I believe in learning from mistakes, but one place where we can't afford to make mistakes is on public roads at speed. :(
RIP, my condolences to his family & friends.

...and in particular the OPH from Pie in the Sky to Brooklyn. No second chance on that stretch.

It's probably a good wake up call for the people that do drift/speed on that road.

Do you have a google map link to that area? Never been, just curious..
Just became aware of it today. Rest in peace, G and T

Always sad when it hits so close to home. Such a young age too.
RIP
I am sorry for the loss of these people. Thoughts to their friends and family.
Racetracks are the kind of place for drifing and driving at full throttle. I'm very careful on this section of OPH and will continue to drive as if a HP car is about to come out at the next corner.

No conclusion at this point, but the truck could have been travelling on the wrong side of the road. Only time will tell.

apologies if i upset anyone and i am no crash scene investigator and also assuming the photo is correctly orientated the truck is on the correct side of the road and looking at the vertex of the impact i think the truck being on the wrong side of the road is highly unlikely.
