I had the horrible experience of eating at Sizzler for the first time in like 15 years. Regret is a word that comes to mind. My first post on a VW Golf forum, about Sizzler...shame.

Hey I had the same experience last year. I hadn't eaten at a Sizzler since high school and when I saw that there was one at Kogarah I had a time warp moment! The cheese bread was awesome (lol), the spag bol as crap (but awesome) as ever. The knives and forks were greasy and damn the place was packed out (amazing as it's definitely far from "cheap").

I don't eat sweets or much junk food, but I think bullet confectionery is still available.

OT re your plates:
Why not make up some number plate surrounds with silver on the front and bullet on the back?

Around 10 years now, doctors say my blood is the best there is! not lacking or too much of anything, cholesterol is 3.2, liver is also excellent.

This is consistent year after year, so not sure why anyone would want to kill an innocent animal just for a feed?

Oh well, if only they could talk.

In my lunch break I went and checked out a new bakery just opened in Crows Nest called St. Malo Bakery.
I got a fruit bun and a ciabatta roll which were so good you have to go back again. You could tell they have used nothing but the best ingredients.
They had lots of other yummies too.

It's the BEST thai food in Sydney without a doubt (cbd). Not just because it is very cheap, but it is also very authentic and most of all very yummy. Me and my mates used to go to longrain, sailor thai (canteen), spice i am etc. all much more expensive but now when it comes to thai food we go to chat thai. You know it is good when it is packed all the time.

On food in general, this forum has great taste in cars and food ;)

Today for lunch i went to chinese-malay in hunter street in the cbd.

Went to Sepia for the 1st time last tuesday night, it was quite good, maybe my expectation wasn't very high because there was probably only 1/3 filled for the whole night. Went to Becasse 2 weeks ago... same thing it was less than 1/3 full... but becasse was average.

Over the weekend, i went to Hurricanes (bondi) one of my favourites, tried their new beef rips... not as good as pork but still pretty good.

As for vegetarians, i love my veggies, but meat is just so yummy :)

We all think eating fruit means just buying fruit, cutting it up and popping it into our mouths. It's not that easy. It's important to know how and when to eat fruit.

What's the correct way to eat fruit?

IT MEANS NOT EATING FRUIT AFTER A MEAL! FRUIT SHOULD BE EATEN ON AN EMPTY STOMACH. Eating fruit like that plays a major role in detoxifying your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities..

FRUIT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOOD. Let's say you eat two slices of bread, then a slice of fruit. The slice of fruit is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but it's prevented from doing so.

In the meantime, the whole meal rots and ferments, and turns to acid. The minute the fruit comes into contact with the food in the stomach, and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil.

Eat your fruit on an empty stomach, or before your meal! You've heard people complain: Every time I eat watermelon I burp, when I eat durian my stomach bloats, when I eat a banana I feel like running to the toilet, etc. This will not happen if you eat the fruit on an empty stomach. Fruit mixes with the putrefying other food and produces gas. Hence, you bloat!

Gray’ing hair, balding, nervous outburst, and dark circles under the eyes - all of these will NOT happen if you eat fruit on an empty stomach.

There's no such thing as some fruits, like orange and lemon are acidic, because all fruit becomes alkaline in our body, according to Dr. Herbert Shelton who did research on this matter. If you have mastered the correct way of eating fruit, you have the Secret of Beauty, Longevity, Health, Energy, Happiness and normal weight.

When you need to drink fruit juices drink only fresh fruit juice, NOT from the cans. Don't drink juice that has been heated. Don't eat cooked fruit; you don't get the nutrients at all. You get only the taste... Cooking destroys all of the vitamins.

Eating a whole fruit is better than drinking the juice. If you should drink the juice, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly, because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it. You can go on a 3-day fruit-fast to cleanse your body. Eat fruit and drink fruit juice for just 3 days, and you will be surprised when your friends say how radiant you look!

KIWI: Tiny but mighty, and a good source of potassium, magnesium, vitamin E and fibre. Its vitamin C content is twice that of an orange!

AN APPLE a day keeps the doctor away? Although an apple has a low vitamin C content, it has antioxidants and flavonoids which enhances the activity of vitamin C, thereby helping to lower the risk of colon cancer, heart attack and stroke.

STRAWBERRY: Protective Fruit. Strawberries have the highest total antioxidant power among major fruits and protect the body from cancer-causing, blood vessel-clogging free radicals.

EATING 2 - 4 ORANGES oranges a day may help keep colds away, lower cholesterol, prevent and dissolve kidney stones, and reduce the risk of colon cancer.

WATERMELON: Coolest thirst quencher. Composed of 92% water, it is also packed with a giant dose of glutathione, which helps boost our immune system. It is also a key source of lycopene, the cancer-fighting oxidant. In addition, watermelon also contains Vitamin C and Potassium.

GUAVA & PAPAYA: Top awards for vitamin C. They are the clear winners for their high vitamin C content. Guava is also rich in fibre, which helps prevent constipation. Papaya is rich in carotene, good for your eyes.

Did you and Christina have it with Hunky or with Dory? :)

As a generalisation, 09 was a much better Marlborough SB harvest than 08, in terms of the wine's general qualities. I'm a bit sick of it but the Mrs still loves it.
So much, we should take a flight to WLG and then get across by ferry to this area, then ride bikes between the wineries and OD on SB!

I wonder if Sweet As is already taken as a wine label. ;) We could then toast (roast?) Anthony for his Sweet Ass 'rocco!

Tasmanian Atlantic Salmon cutlets baked for 15mins; served over steamed broccolini.

Served with a sauce I forget the name of and eaten with Hunter Verdelho from Tempus Two. [We are sick of 08 Marlborough SB and will get more stock when we go there]

Dessert was a Vienetta. ;p

It rated well with the folks!

Wow, you guys seem to eat pretty healthy.

I cooked these dishes up over the past week for myself and my girlfriend:

Stir fried chicken and vegetables with mash

Beef strips and broccoli cooked in sauce (garlic, onion, soy, chicken stock) on rice

Pretty bad today .. well off my routine.

Breakfast: 3 Weetbix for breakfast - no skim left so had to go the full cream dairy farmers.

Morning Tea: Uncle Toby's Muesli bar - Apricot and an Apple.

Lunch: 6 beers at the pub with the boss over a 3 hour period. A very small piece of cake for a colleagues b'day.

Needed to eat after the beers so bought a boiled chicken + salad on rye (small sandwich).

Just got home and am about to cook some marinated chicken with steamed greens.

.. then its bedtime. Up at 8 for a weights session. Really should go for a run tonight but cbf.

How the hell do you do anything after 6 beers at lunch!!! Let alone consider an evening run! I have 2 or 3 beers at lunch in an hour and i'm cooked. I'm seriously impressed.

Excuses excuses. Haha.

I'm at the age where I'm pretty well bulletproof. Nothing I eat really has a significant affect on my wellbeing. In syaing that though through the week I'll have a crib tin full of food (3 sandwiches, a bottle of juice, 3 pieces of fruit, a yoghurt and the rest), and I have a really active/physical demand in my job. I could almost eat straight pig fat and not put it on.

I'm waiting for that day when it matters htough....haha

It always matters, there's a point when your arteries will say no more and the blood just won't flow..

That being said, I'm no better :p

I cooked some porter house steak on the weekend. Seasoned with sea salt and pepper only. Pink in the middle. Fat melted in your mouth.

Soooo nice.

I'm a massive fan of the Degustation menus and have had almost all of them over here in Perth already. There's probably another handful yet to try which is on the list however!
