On Friday, my brother borrowed my car. It came home with scratches on both driver side wheels. He has offered to cover the cost to repair them and all. But i gave him shit about about being a shit driver, as you do.

Today, coming home from uni, i clipped a corner and scratched the rear passenger side wheel.

Pretty funny considering i was giving him shit all weekend long, now i go and do this. :icon_neutral:

So 3 out of the 4 wheels have scratches. I want to get them fixed & re-sprayed.

Should i change colour?

Here is how it looks now:

Any wild/interesting colours you guys could suggest? Should i just stick to gunmetal?

Cheers,
Shane

talking about scratched wheel, i'm getting mine fixed on thursday morning. It was only minor scratches, and the car is relatively new, so i thought i might do it once.

I know i will scratch my tires more in the future as i love the gutters for some reason.

I know how you feel guys. Did my one about 4 weeks ago and was going around the corner. First time in 1 year since I got the car so was gutt’d.

Did a bit of asking around and getting quotes on repair cost and two said to respray the whole wheel for around $150.

Thing is that is the back left which will get damaged again probably.

I am in the process of looking for someone who will colour match the OEM silver wheel finish so I can get a small tin and touch it up myself. Still not over it but what can you do.

Good luck with the repair Chewy7.

I'd stick with the Gunmetal, but I'm a delightfully boring chap.
Good luck getting a colour code out of VMR.... I asked them repeatedly over 6 months and they could never give me a straight answer.

i will literally give myself an uppercut if i scratch my new rims... its taken over 3 months to get finished and now just the wait on Japan for the stems which is killing me...

with 3 rims now scared, you could look at a colour flip... you could look at like a black outer face and gunmetal on the inners? it would be subtle but thats sometimes the best...

I feel your pain - never nice to curb your wheels esp aftermarkets.

Shane, I have a couple scratches on the passenger side rims of my car also... it has been bothering me ever since November. If you decide to get them fixed could you give me a buzz so we can organise something. It might work out cheaper

I guttered one of mine the other day - so upset! I was actually given both these places as a reference, haven't decided which to go with yet

I guttered my left front in the first week after picking up the car. I tried polishing it out a little with a dremel and sand paper which smoothed it out a tad but the finish is still noticeably different. But he wheels get dirty so quickly from the brake dust it's not that noticeable.

1st day back in the car today after our 2 week trip away. Dropped into McDonald's drive-through just off the M5 and yup, heard that horrible noise. It's light but it goes 1/4 way around the rear drivers side rear rim :( SO UPSET.

Sorry to hear that Justin. Only few weeks ago I did mine, again! Still haven’t recovered from the last 1 then went to paddies on Sat and got a chip on my CF diffuser (WTF! How did that happed!) so was even more upset and then heard the worst new of my life, my best mate's 5yr old kid got Leukaemia. That’s 6 months in the hospital...and if goes ok. Make you realise that we worry about all of these little things (I am one of them)....but life can be much worst. Sorry for invading this post with my story.

I am sure she will be ok Justin!
