VOLKSWAGEN HAS RELEASED images and details today of the upcoming 2011 Volkswagen Polo GTI, nearly one year after revealing the regular 2010 Volkswagen Polo hatch.
Speaking with TMR today, Volkswagen Australia's Karl Gehling confirmed that a local launch for the Polo GTI, along with the five- and three-door Polo models, is not far away.
"We will see the new Polo. That will be launching, all but the GTI, in May. And we will see the Polo GTI later this year," Mr Gehling said.
Good news, and it's not too far off the Golf GTI's speed either! Can't wait to drive this sucker...
But like I said, it's no Golf GTI! :icon_twisted:
Looks sooooooooooo much better than the previous Polo!

Moley! It looks good! Interesting half black roof too!
Man, why do so many posts not appear! I can't just Justin's post above :(
Stivo: there could be, but VW hasn't said yet. What we've posted is pretty much all there is to know right now!
Are you using chrome van?
PS: you have PM!
I really like it.
Love the 'audi-ish' type look to it.
177HP in the body of a Polo is going to pack quite a punch.

I replaced my 1996 Polo with a 2010 TSI 1.2 turbo Polo this year. Love the way the turbo engine runs, fantastic fuel efficiency, and a comfortable drive.
Trouble is, I LOVED the way my old Polo looked.
Made it look, well, like a Polo and not a Golf!
The new generation Polo is really a mini-Golf. It is slightly wider and longer than the former Polo incarnations.
She got rear-ended today (I've only had her for 4 months and she has 935 kms on the dial) and I can't believe it!
