Some bad news unfortunately Darren, I've just left the dealership you called after a client visit and he was saying that they are taking their 2 demos to the RAC track tomorrow to fill for no-show pre-booked vehicles at a corporate day

Edit: Silver lining, lots of sparkling Camrys there you can take for a spin

Jump on 7Tunes FB page and have a look at the comments posted by Toyota fans about Nissan's..... Nissan fans can at least appreciate a nice Supra, in most cases the same cant be said for the Supra fan

Klink, funny you should say that.... take a look at all the Cresida's getting around with 1J conversions and straw hats and tissue boxes on the parcel shelf lol
While I do agree that there is always a people who will hate on different cars from different makes to justify their own purchases (I do it to; I dislike civics because of how the owners treat the car, drive the car and mod their car).
I been on the nissan forums where they bag out the Golf R as a chicks car, I been on Toyota forums where they say the s15 is a PoS, and also say their corolla sportivo will destroy the 86 etc etc. It always happens.

So, took a Silver manual GTS for a spin this morning.

    Pros.

Looks great, apart from the wheels.
Manual gearbox is very good, it's been a couple of years since i've driven a manual and this reminded me how much fun they can be, shifts are nice and close.
Front Recaros are great, leather and alcantara look nice and a give good support.
Interior quality better than i thought it would be, but not quite up to Golf's standards.
Turn in is excellent, i didn't get a chance to really hammer it but it felt very direct going in and out of a few roundabouts i went through with minimal body roll.

    Cons.
Didn't feel that quick, again as mentioned i didn't get an opportunity to really give it any stick and i am comparing it to my R, saying that it would be more than quick enough for most of your everyday driving.
They have one of those pipes to bring the engine noise into the cabin, shame the engine noise is not that great and can be quite loud at times, seemed to give me the impression i was going faster than i actually was.
Bugger all room in the back, i am 5'7ish and my head was touching the roof, leg room is almost non-existant.

A very brief review i know, overall i really quite liked the car and i can sort of see what all the fuss is about. If i was in the market for a car around the $40k mark it would certainly be near the top of the list, well the BRZ anyway.
Salesman said that any orders now would be delivery around xmas time however there are a few apparently on the way in that have not been sold so you may be lucky.

Nice one Darren, so in summary it needs a supercharger (solves noise and performance cons), a nice set of Work wheels + a sunroof for taller people. Sounds like easy things to fix for <$10K

Pretty much spot on Paul except i dont think the sunroof will really help, it's actually the rear window that my head was touching not the roof itself. Should be plenty of headroom for front seat passangers.

Yeah for a 4 seater coupe, the rear looks pointless, may as well make the car a 2 seater, but it all depends on the size of the driver and passenger i suppose (suited for little asians like me?!)

As for the fast notion; yeah I don't think the car would feel as fast.. especially after owned and driven an R But once you hammer it the sound of the revving car would probably put a slight smile on your face until you turn the car into a tail happy toy But very fair summary there Darren. Appreciated!
