    Going Manual

Im new to this forum and also hopefully new to VW. I currently drive a BMW 525i and with luck everything goes well tomorrow with finance and i will be trading it in for a Golf GTD Manual.

This was one hard car to find!!! I could have picked up a DSG without an issue but manual was becoming impossible.

I would like to know what are the easy upgrades to the GTD. I want to put Bi Xenons on it and the LED rear lights but what else can i look at doing?

    cheers

    Smythy

I could not buy a auto or DSG hot hatch. I having been driving an Auto for over 10 years and i to have the fun of driving a manual again.

I sure will let you know how it goes.

Good thing is i have to drive it home from Tamworth to Brisbane and this can only help the engine settle in nicely.

Welcome Smithy. I went from a manual TDI to the DSG GTD (ordered and waited 7 months) due to back issues when depressing the clutch pedal. I loved the manual, and would have ordered a manual GTD if the old back could of taken it. I don't know about Bi-xenons but Ozram is a contact for the LEDs tails. Send him a PM. Enjoy the GTD, I certainly do.

Congrats on the manual box - it's a lovely gearbox to use, you'll love it. Good luck with the finance and hopefully your behind the wheel of a new GTD and you can get rid of the 5 series whale.
