    Yokohama Advan AD08 Tyres

    Hi Everyone

We are pleased to be able to provide Advan AD08 tyres at an affordable price for the VW community. Some information from the Advan website:

The ADVAN Neova AD08 bridges the gap between street tyres and race tyres. It handles the heat and achieves great lap times.

Street tyres work well when cold. Conventional rubber compounds reach their limit on race tracks as heat softening saps the tyres ability to grip. Using street tyres on the track can lead to slow lap times and rapid tread wear.

Race tyres work well when hot. R-spec race tyres and slicks generate heat which helps them grip the race track. Their ideal operating temperature is above 60C degrees. Race tyres work best in the first heat cycles, then performance begins to drop off. Using race tyres on the street is a waste.

    - Micro Silica Compound 2 controls heat and feels soft on a micro level, to grip the road, and hard on a macro level to resist deformation, heat and wear.
    - Racing tread pattern with continuous tread to increase rigidity.
    - Steel sidewall inserts to increase casing rigidity.
    - Show to out perform similar extreme sports tyres in cornering, braking and on dry track conditions.
    - 8mm tread depth (Unlike a R-spec tyre's 4.5 - 5 mm) and a 180 UTQG Treadwar rating so you can expect resonable tread life.
    - World Touring Car Championship tyre technology.

The bottom line is if you want these tyres you know why! And if you don't want them, well you should get them!

    Pricing

This is the important bit - a set of 4 in 225/40/18 will be $1510 shipped. This is the correct size for OEM 18" wheels. If you want 235/40/18, the total become $1690. Add If you are in Canberra, we can provide fitting for $40.

Now a lot of you buy from Tirerack which is great. Be aware though, that Tirerack no longer ships outside of the US, so although you can use mail forwarding companies etc why bother when you can get them through us?

For those of you interested in a new set of wheels, or perhaps a second set of track days, by way of example have a look at the following:

    VMRV701 + AD08 235/40/18 balanced and shipped to a metro area = $2910

Please note that if you wish to enter the Neova Cup, you cannot use our tyres since they must be purchased from Australian stock and dealers. However, if you're looking for a good time, some brilliant tyres and fast lap times, send us an email or PM us! We generally respond within 2 hours between 9am and midnight!

    Cheers

I just sold some to some lucky guy for $600 for x4 (235/35R/19) on the weekend.
These are awesome tyres... hard market to sell for a decent price though.

Sorry buddy I was looking at the wrong tyre!

The S drive in 235/35/19 is $1480. However the price you're getting is INCREDIBLY cheap - you sure its fresh stock?

The S drive is a very popular tyre so its hard to compete with all the other parallel importers
