Golf GTI How much is it worth?

    Hi Guys,

Been offered a five door Pirelli in yellow, it has every option and has been owned by a friend since new, he's a older gentleman and bought it off the sales info, when he collected it he hated the colour and has not used it. It has only covered 17K and is in showroom condition, like I have said it has every option.
How much is it worth and how much we're they new?

    Vic

Yeah id say hi $20k's is what its worth.

The very low km's is a bonus for the buyer (you) but doesn't really add much more value to the car for the person selling.

    ^ they were about $50k i believe.

    What makes them special:
#1: it has the engine from the Audi S3 (a good thing) which includes a strengthened engine block, diffeent pistons/conrods etc, different fuel injectors and a larger turbo over the standard GTI.

#2: they only made a small amount of the Pirelli editions - so they are quite rare.

Around $30K. However, it depends on you. If it's under your budget, it's worth. Otherwise, it's not worth. Pirelli GTI is made in Wolfsburg vw headquater so it's better than the normal GTI which is made in South Africa. But the kilometre is not the most important thing that you need to consider first.

Thanks for your advise guy's, it's like it has just come out of the showroom, I think I have paid too much for it but I have shook hands on the deal so no going back!
Some very interesting point about the car, did not know the engine was from an Audi and did not know where it was built.
I get a car allowance so the plan is to buy it, run it for 18 months and then give it the wife as she does bugger km's.
Must admit I am looking forward to February when I take ownership, had a Mk1 back in the day and loved that car!

Anyone got anymore interesting information? Does anyone know the New price of one of these, remember this is 5 door with every option, just wondering!

Colour coded body sections (on the standard GTI these parts are raw black plastic), special Pirelli edition 18inch wheels, special Pirelli edition interior.

The engine in your Pirelli is still used today in the Golf R and the GTI 35th Edition (special edition GTI).

So, if its the same engine as the R and does not have four wheel drive (weight) it should be quite nippy
Must admit the look of it is growing on me, going round helping him this morning, he's 74 and a lovely bloke, he collects Duccati's and still rides everyday, fingers crossed I'm like that at his age!

Vic I have no idea how much these were new in 2008 but my equivalent limited edition with all the options was $57k in 2011. It's pretty depressing how quickly cars lose their value, even with low km's.

But if like me, you buy your cars for the fun & for driving then the Pirelli will be begging to have that detuned power unlocked and a couple of other tweaks to give you an even more sensational experience. (Sorry, I'm in sales )
