Just realised the link, some good driving there, well done. Would be good to be able to flick the arse around with the handbrake, you'd drop time for sure.

Here's what I'm hoping to achieve with the R eventually. My old STi - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUyenJIFeo4

Was the first day on the pan in the R, previously I'd done about 10 of them in XR6T's which have quite a different technique. ie none at all lol.

Good fun but I reckon the track is way better. That said though, the skid pan has bugger all impact on tyre/brake wear so everyone should get out and at least have a go. Nothing to hit and you can learn a lot about the car.

    Thanks.
If you're interested the Holden Sporting Car club run motorkhana in the car parks behind willowbank drag strip. They hold the Qld series as well as come & try days where day licenses are available.

Good fun, especially when it's wet

    Reviving this thread...

Dan and I had a cracking time at Winton over the past weekend. We had both the Evo and the Golf on the track for some testing.
While the Golf was no where near the times the Evo can do, it was equally as fun. Nah, it was more fun.

Following the prescribed outline, this was the outcome...

    2011 Golf R
    DSG
    Hankook Z221 235/40/18
    1:42.6
    Winton

    Sticky Needed

We need a sticky on Australian track times just like Sammy did foir the 1/4 mile times.

Why? So when a Vic driver goes to QLD and does a Lakeside session she/he can look at what is respectable and what they can expect.

    I'm not volunteering BTW.
