Will sus it out tonight though
The wiring is not hard at all, very simple,

But the VAGCOM is 100% needed, I'm guessing your are not in Sydney right?

There are plenty of people with Vagcoms around. I'm in Melbourne and have done this so I'd be happy to assist if you're nearby. Whereabouts are you?

Marko, was thinking more along the lines of the Tiguan not actually having this option and needing something else done to make it work.

If the wiring and the pin outs are in the door trim your right, it wont be hard at all.

I am in Sydney but dont forget its a Tiguan..... i am guessing the VAGCOM cables are different?

Folks, apology if this is not the place... So Marco feel free to let me know and I will make a separate thread. I noticed in Europe there are motorized mirrors on golf's that fold back, and they include puddle lamps.

You can buy new originals but they are a bit steap, but second hand units are available. And I've read they require a particular door 'controller' to operate. I was wondering if anyone else had looked into the motorized mirrors?

This is amazing work guys, good stuff!

Has anyone done this in the MK5 GTI? Same procedure? I'm really keen to do this but always a bit worried when wiring is involved :/

This won't fit the MK5 Kevin, due to the housing not having the clips or space for the lights, you have basically to built the light from the scratch like this,

All the DIY for the MK5 is here....BIG job!

Comparison mirror housing MK5 vs Mk6

    MK5...

Absence of mounting clips and no guidelines where the light it's suppose to be installed,

Holes to be filled and awkward fitting,

    MK6...

Guide were the light is mounted..

Inner housing clips, where the light will be fitted and secured,

    Finished view..
