    that is not correct
the tyre in that photo is the RE-11S (can't believe they made a mistake!)
you can download their price list and see for yourself

the correct names are listed here at bridgestone's japanese website:
    http://www.bridgestone.co.jp/persona...nza/index.html

and besides, the RE-11 has a UTQG of 180 A A (as advertised by taleb), whereas the RE-11S does not

^Ooops. Naughty Bridgestone. Your right the RE11 thread looks different to the RE11S. If this is the case, I would definitely think the RE11 is for road use.

180 UTQG, most definitely street legal, Spritz explained it quite well re the water channels, may not seem like a big deal but they engineer every mm of this tyre so it does help!

Yep it seems Bridgestone has made a huge mistake, the tyre on their website is the RE11-S, bridgestone Australia does not bring in the RE11 at all.

Thanks to spritz for clearing up the q's!

The re-11 is AMAZING in the wet - having done Great Ocean Road at least a dozen times when damp/wet (when is it ever dry..?) and they held up 10/10 - VERY predictable tyre, you really get a feel when they are at their limits.

(I went through 2 full (4) sets before I made the change to Michelin, and that was only due to the 180 tread ware (15,000km's each set) as my new job now requires me to drive 30,000+ a year)

Only criticism is they are a little noisy and tend to intensify crappy built roads.

cool video explaining the influence from F1 engineering: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=undtvhIdcKg
