DSG can be done tomorrow even if you want Nick.

What a build!!!! Makes my tip wet! :P
Seriously though that engine bay is shimck! Very jelly!

I have to question tho, that power level at those boost levels seem fairly conservative?
There is a few Golf R's running same setup running 600hp on 2 bar (less motor)?? Is it a lie? I think one in Greece and one in Instanbul?

The current power levels doesn't seem to be too far off a GTX2876R ???

Please tell me there is some more to go with this setup!!!?!?!?!????

    Hi guys,
I am the owner of the car from Istanbul. Well it s not a lie, I havent seen a setup with gtx3076 boosts over 2.0 bar and revs 8500 rpm on web.

    GTX3076 2.0 - 2.1 bar with 0.82 A/R:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qnKxnOSNjTg

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxpS4kHvgtg

That car was producing 580 hp on crank on maha dyno at 1.8 bar with 0.63 A/R housing, builded engine +1 valves and schrick cams:

    http://s1162.photobucket.com/user/Le...ml?sort=3&o=78

Here is another example that we currently finished S3 8P with ATP GTX3071 Kit boosts 2.5 bar and revs 8k rpm

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72oasbMOA7w

    100 - 200 kmh 5.7 sec 200 - 250 kmh 4.4 sec DBN result

This car is 583 hp 680 nm at 2.5 bar on maha dyno. So what garrett quotes is not the maximum capacity that turbo can produce...

We have 180 bar rail valves, bigger fuel lines and intank pumps like walbro 450. Thats make the difference

    Now we have two cars with our new twinscroll gtx3582 setup;

    Golf R: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7IE75NgdYk

    S3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTQQkP_lPvY

Both of them will boost over 2.5 bar with racegas. This time i will record a video which shows the road the engine and the car and also the dbn results. I m not a person who only shares dyno figures, believe or not these are the real and true results of these setups

Being able to throw around numbers and figures is one thing... However I believe a Dyno is just a tool to for tuning vehicles and 'mimicking a false road' for safety reasons. There is so many way to get a HP reading from the Engine, hub and wheels. To add to this each Dyno user will use their own ramping method which causes inaccurate and varied readings. I am not calling you a liar, and definitely do NOT want this to take over Nick's build thread, however for these cars you speak of to get a 'True' reading of hp would be the MPH trap speed of a 1/4 meter run and the weight of the vehicle...

We've found that none of the claimed Euro dyno figures match their terminal speeds when run down the quarter and nor do they match the MAF readings if the car still has a MAF so it's pointless to compare. It will always be different. If we have a similar capacity engine of the same type running the same boost, timing, AFR, fuel and comp ratio it will produce a very similar figure to another motor, its just how you measure it and then the corresponding figure that results, it will be different.
We can easily run more boost too I can dial up whatever I want but to do that on our sub 98 RON fuel (96.x in reality)here is a recipe for disaster but I'll say it again if all those parameters are the same the power figure will be the same there is no magic, it is no black art. Deal with it

I have this same ongoing argument with my own guys in Greece who call our dyno cruel and yet ours cars beat theirs on the strip with regards to the terminal speeds we see, they also go quiet when I mention MAF readings LOL. Me, I'll stick with the accurate and precise one thanks because that's what I have to use right now, if I had a Dynapac or Maha then yes I would use that but I don't.

If you see people quoting figures above what the turbo can flow then yeah I'll call BS, sorry if that hurts its simply crap to pretend otherwise, if anything the figure would be exaggerated not the other way round - the same applies to the ongoing urban myth "yeah VAG under quote the engines output power by X percent" seriously why would they do this ??? why would you make a motor less reliable and more likely to fail/more warranty issues for no reason ?? it's complete and utter crap but remains because third parties measuring methods in use give different value so yeah of course they must be right . If it were so then the whole diesel gate saga wouldn't be an issue cause you'd just wind back the fuel a bit and leave boost the same.

    /rant off

I'll have my own S3 on a Dyno dynamics on Friday so it will be good to compare

Awesome build mate, spent about an hour on here reading thorough this thread a couple weeks back while looking for a new car. I was close to buying a mk6 R at the time but this swayed me to check a few S3's out, glad i did as i fell in love with them and ended up buying one. So thanks for that

There was a diesel gate saga? I thought it was all a mountain out of a mole hill in the Australian market with various individuals claiming (or at least convincing themselves in their own mind) that they bought a diesel golf for it's environmentally reduced impact. Frankly I call total horse in the on this here in this neck of the woods, given he vast majority of people buy consumer products with a frugal approach akin to being a total tight ass, and expecting champagne tastes on a beer budget. Sadly ignorance is bliss, and the more people crap on about it, the more it affects second hand market resale because people are convinced they might be ultimately killing a dolphin by using a VW post diesel gate. In reality, should have used the whole malarcky as a leverage point to pick up some cars in the lot collecting dust at a cheap rate.

....sorry Nick for the side nonsense. You know I love your car
