That came from a father and son combo from Tassie. It has a S3 engine in it and goes like stink, it did have ronal turbo wheels on it but since then abviously not!

    Hi DubSteve,

Not sure about the S3 engine. I got told its from a 2001 Bora. One thing is for sure it does go like stink. Ed did a great job on building this car, what a legend!
Catch u at one of the VW events mate.

IIRC the 1.8T engine wasn't available in Australian delivered Boras. If the engine was sourced from an Aussie car then it would need to have come from a Golf, Passat, TT, A3/S3 or A4.

It's irrelevant, though, it kicks arse!

Tis true, and I am fairly certain that it was out of a S3. The Bora only had a 5v 2.3L and the VR6 2.8L 24V in Australia, quite possibly the 2.slow aswell but don't quote me on the last.

    Not a bad admission!

Nice car mate, great looks and potent 20vt. MPH qualifies plenty more in it (traction permitting!)

    Thanks Mate,

Engine is 1.8lt 20v turbo. Engine code ARX.
Previous owner reckons 240 hp. (Not sure if its flywheel, motor or Tyre).

I will definitely dyno it soon and give accurate figures.

    Cheers

Good to see this car being used properly! Best MK1 in Australia imo.

From what i remember from the original sale ad by the builder the engine is an imported 20VT (not sure if its from a Bora or an S3).

Nah Mate. They are South Australian plates. Was easier to register the car in S.a than Vic.
