    RCD310 Upgrade

    Hi all,

I recently purchased a 09 Golf MKVI 103TDI Comfortline. The current media unit installed is an RCD310. This head unit doesn't have the bluetooth fitted, however i note the steering wheel has the call interface and can select bluetooth on the unit (however this feature doesn't work).

So I'm looking to upgrade the head-unit to the RCD510 or purchase and fit the missing bluetooth component. Before i go ahead i have a few questions:
Whats the best headunit to upgrade to? that includes bluetooth and possibly navigation
Is this a plug and play unit or do i need to remove the dash to run the cables?
Is there any other additional things i need to do after an install?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does your car have factory Bluetooth? (the Bluetooth module will be on the floor under the drivers seat if you have it).

Hi Aussiesam, how did you go with this? I have the same problem / looking to do the same thing.

Apologies if this thread is too old.
