    Fixed or interchangeable?

Budget wise you can't go past the Sony RX100 II (fixed) or spend a bit more and get the Oly E-PL5 (OMD sensor)with a couple of primes.

I recently bought my girlfriend a new Panasonic Lumix DMC-LF1 and its really really good.

Super easy to use, has heaps of cool features (like wifi connection to control it on your phone and upload images to the web etc) and the image and video quality is great.

Got it off kogan for a good price.

If you are accustomed to using a Canon/Nikon/etc than it is worth trying to stay with the same brand as the learning curve is much lower. I have a Canon 60D and bought a Canon pocket camera as they are similar in settings.

CF Chin spoiler.Strut support. UB+XB, superpro LCAs, Alloy riser knuckles, LEDs.....

I would recommend buying Nikon or Cannon. These are the real leaders of the market.
I am thinking about buying quite a budget variant COOLPIX P900.
