Retro Speedfest 2015 Eastern Creek Pictures

Retro Speedfest was on again last weekend (Sat/Sun) at Eastern Creek - completely unknown to me, received the call from a mate early Sun morning, by 9am we were out there. Great day and a must for all Historic and iconic race lovers - lot of early 911's, Shelby's, Jags, Sierra's, BMW's, Alfas, Datsuns, TVR's the infamous Richards/Skaife Godzilla Skylines, Austin Healey's, whole host of early F1 cars (which sounded incredible on the track), Porsche 962's, other infamous racing machines making Aust. History (ie Phase 3 GTHO's, range of Commodores - even a BMW M1! The diversity of cars and classes made the day - which wasn't limited to the usual regularity groups - though a lot of familiar drivers were in attendance (including the likes of Alex Davison etc).

Very friendly crew/teams (most of which are well known in the industry - Bowden Colection, Dutton Garage, JPS etc) - and all were happy for a chat which usually resulted to an extended invite into the garages and a thorough explanation of some of the cars.

Some pics below - will continuously upload as there are a few ! (Some need to go straight to the car porn thread in my opinion )

Pics are standard iphone unfortunately so apologies for some of the low quality shots!

One of my favourite shots to gather interest - GT40 with a sneaky early 911 (ST or R re-creation based on a 2.2 69S, which in itself is now highly collectible and rare):

Early 356 Outlaws - don't underestimate these guys on the track - for a 1950's car they were keeping up with the best in their class:

Love the detail here and 'Outlaw' touch...

Porsche 962's - not often you see these in Australia! The white one is a local car - though does a lot of overseas competition - the Jagermeister car was recently rebuilt - shorty after delivery it was badly crashed - stayed in storage for 11 years until someone with deep pockets bought it and re-built it to what it is today! It was leading its class and on pace all day - though unfortunately had a few mechanical probs so DNF on Sunday.

Amazing pics Rob. It looks like a great day with an incredible amount of eye candy. Any track videos?
I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.
