I like the matte charcoal idea on the spare wheels. Tartan Recaros would be schmick

    El's Edition 35

    Five month update.

GTI is currently at 65,xxx kms and driving like a dream !

    Item 1. Minor Service
So about a month ago Hills Eurohaus took the car for a day. They performed a minor service, installed Spulen Charge and Discharge pipes and also Walnut Blast the intake inlets.
The combination of all these services means that the throttle response is much sharper and earlier. There is a bit more intake noise on WOT.

    Item 2. Full Detail
Holidays are the only time I get everything done at home and get a chance to send some time on the car these days.
Started the morning with Gyeon snow foam and rinse off.
Next was Gyeon Bathe+ 2 bucket wash and rinse off.
It was about 7:30am by this stage haha.
Following that I used Mint Clay Bar with Gyeon Clay Lube (great product) to Clay bar the whole car.
At this point I was very happy with the paint!
Then to get rid of all the lube and excess contaminants I used Gyeon Bathe+ again for a 2 bucket wash.
After that I dried the whole car with a Gyeon Drying Towel (great product).
To make sure I got rid of all the drops I used my electric blower.

    Now was correction time.
I knew that there were swirled and mares all on the bonnet, roof and doors so I thought a complete 2 stage job would do it. My machine that I use is a Mint Protools DAS6.

    Stage 1 - Menzerna 500 using a Surbuf pad.
    Stage 2 - Menzerna 2500 using a Surbuf pad.
Stage 3 (bonnet, roof only) - Menzerna 4000 using Lake Country Polishing Pad.

Wax - I had some left over Swissvax Onyx so I mixed it in with my Dodo Juice Purple Haze.

Anyway I took me around 7 hours but it's done haha. I post some iPhone photos below.
