Yeah I was tossing up between modified stock and the Forge intake, but now I'm thinking I may just slap a CTS on for the induction noise.
Just concerned a CTS may be detrimental to performance compared to the stock intake..

Ive heard the cts is one of the louder ones so that's enough for me. I do like the stock look of the r600 though... I also cant imagine it being any worse than the stock intake, heat-soak maybe but even if it is a loss I wouldn't think it would be more than 2 - 3 kw surely

I have yet to investigate my stock one, since the car hasn't arrived. My plan is to just check and make sure we don't get the snow/gravel tray, if we do, remove it, and put in a high quality reusable. K&N or the other one escapes me at this stage.

Yeah pretty confident we get the plastic bit you're referring to.
I'm thinking for $500~ I'll go with the CTS intake - for the induction noise if nothing else.

Does anyone have one or can comment on its performance vs the stock intake - especially regarding heat soak?

I decided to modify the stock intake by opening the blocked sections. Took a bit of drilling and sawing, and wonder how much actual performance gain there is, if any. Also haven't decided if I will block off the original opening that sucks air from the engine bay.

Someone should try a 4" intake pipe. Evo's even on standard turbo love them!

That is for the Mk5 and Mk6 Golf's. It doesn't suit the Mk7.

No point departing from stock unless you've got a tune imo. If you want noise get a muffler delete.
