Replacement Key

Hi lads,

So I got a beautiful 2011 and I only got one key with it. I don't want to have to keep sharing mine with my girlfriend and we need a spare. I've got a friend in Germany who can get a spare key from the dealership but got no idea how that would work. A friend mentioned if you show your ID you can get a spare key from there. We tried but there's no way to input that ID code on the dealer website from Germany. Even if I did get that to work, how would I get it programmed to my car?

I've checked out an old thread http://www.vwgolf.net.au/showthread....eplacement-Key but not that relevant today. Has anyone gone through this problem before?

No idea tbh.
I bought a spare blank one but no one wants to cut and program it for me...
I'd be interested in doing this too.
