Mk7 Golf R real fuel consumption

Hey guys, I just wonder what is your 'from start' fuel consumption? I got a DSG one and have driven over 12,000kms. I almost drive in normal mode and get 11-12L/100km. Exaggeratively, yesterday it went to 16.7L/ 100km when I drive in high traffic volume and use aircon.

I have been suspecting how some owners can get 9L/ 100km without highway driving. For those people, which mode do they usually use?

All sounds pretty normal to me...

The only way you'd get 9L/100km in anything other than no traffic city driving is if you do half of it on a bicycle.

6.8l/100klm from start. I've done just less than 10000klm in a used R 6 speed manual.

My long term average is 11.7L/100km. Mostly Sydney city traffic, occasional drive on twisty country roads.

No idea how anyone can get 6.8L/100km in an R! I don't even get that in my dad's Golf 90TSI!

My stage 2 gets around 9-10L 100km but I'm not in traffic all the time and fairly sedate driving.
My wife's S3 is Ave about 8.5L 40k km but lots of freeway driving.

I have no idea how someone is getting 6.8L unless freeway driving no traffic 95% of time

Perhaps my data reading is wrong? I get anywhere between 700 to 800klms to a full tank depending on how much I've been going to work. As you can see the lowest reading was my trip home from work last night.

Also don't want people thinking I'm a liar...

    Are my readings incorrect??

Or do I drive like Miss Daisy??

    Cheers everyone.

I get approx 6.9L/100km highway, on Stage 2+ and 20% E85. City driving is more like 10-11L/100km

Is your driving mostly freeway/motorway? If so, what speed do you drive at? Any city traffic driving?
