    Yeah most of those DP can be pretty loud without a res, i tested a few DP's on mine and they were crazy loud, ok if you stay off the throttle but as soon and you give it a boot everyone for 10 blocks knows you're doing it, haha. I ended up going back to stock for ages until just recently i de-catted first cat off the stock DP and it goes really well now, Stage 2 tune and not crazy loud, almost the same as stock. I think i'm going to get a custom rear section made for it now.

    New PB at Winton on the weekend 1:39.7120 (results are on Natsoft, 6/5/18)

    Weather was perfect for the whole day, some pretty quick cars there. Ran out of pads in last session again

    RaceChrono said I should have put down a 1:39.1 ish time if I put it together. Ran two sessions with a passenger which was fun.

    They get them locally. I picked them up used though from them.

    I must say, much nicer than my old wheels, make the huge brakes look even huger. (caused much muttering and awe during scrutineering)

    Well, brake issues in the last session at Winton, found out why. Inside pads melted/warped. Outer pads on both sides were fine.

    Going to get rotors machined, calipers checked and have ordered new pads. Going to have to be more diligent about post track day pull downs and measurements.

    Still I am very surprised at how this went...

    I did the install myself on the garage floor. Jack stands, rear first then front. One trip to Bunnings to get the M14 socket.

    Sorry been a while, since sold the MK6 R.

    Yes, it was the VWR BBK from Harding. I wouldn't go back again for this setup as you can't get parts to recondition them. Stick with the known brands for your brakes that you can actually get spares for because surprise surprise brakes do need spare parts availability.

    Since the MK6 R I have moved to a 2012 NC MX5 for the track duties and 2016 Polo GTI for my wife. Traded the Polo today on a T-ROC X.

    For reference the MX5 decimates the Golf at the track (but not the traffic light grand prix). Winton I dipped into 1:39's on the Golf with about 8-10k in mods. The MX5 is mid 1:37's easy with no where near the investment.
