Everything is going well man, im just waiting for the 83mm pistons to come from the states.

As for the head, the machinist is up to his neck in work for WTAC so its taking a little longer than expected but hopefully i get both the block and the head back at the same time so then we can go full steam ahead and get the engine assembled

Yeah sure is, as much as i wonna drive it, im taking my time with everything, im being over meticulous with everything and trying to make it look at though it was meant to be this way. You cant rush jobs like this, expensive mistakes are made that way!

Finally got around to ripping the intercooler out!

For a while the car had a pretty bad boost leak which, with the help of the smoke machine at work, I figured out it was the intercooler. Today I threw the smoke machine directly into one side of the cooler and I quickly found a nice solid crack in one of the welds! I'll be sending it away to get repaired

Were you running 85psi bud? 😛

That's a decent crack. Great news that you found the problem and it can be fixed.

HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!! I was running 30psi out of the K04. It was an installation issue, the guys who installed the cooler when the old owner had the car left a few things off and they also left the rubber locators off the bottom of the radiator support so the cooler was moving around and caused this crack

I had some spare time today so i finally got around the wrapping my exhaust manifold! What a PITA! There's very little room in between a few of the runners so I had to cross over a few of the pipes but it turned out pretty well!

Fingers crossed I get my block back soon, the machine shop is definitely taking their sweet time!

Looks good mate. I tried to wrap my manifold on my A4, got frustrated and gave up. 🙄

I ended up just wrapping the downpipe.

The wrap definitely works well with controlling heat.

    Cheers.
