    Central locking - intermitent failure

    Hi all

Yesterday, all of a sudden, my front passenger door failed to lock with the central locking. I noticed it as I have the auto close feature enabled and everytime I accelerated from stop it attempted to lock.
On exiting the car and locking, I was able to open the door (obvious security issue, albeit the alarm sounded)
However, After the car had rested for five or so minutes the door locked appropriately.

Any ideas / anyone seen this before?

    Thanks

    Gusto

First thing to check is the key fob battery. I've had this issue and replacing the battery fixed my issue.

Next, would be to check the wiring harness particularly where the door hinges as its a known problem area for wear.

    Good luck!

If you get out of the car and push the lock button on the key Is that door still able to be opened? If so this would mean your door lock actuator needs replacing.

+1 on the wiring hirness on the door hinges, mine split and needed to be reconnected.

test by locking with key and remote to see
