its got nothing to do with the intake. When you are stationary and you try and rev it, it will cut off at about 3500-4000rpm, i.e it wont redline when u are stationary. I think this is for some sort of safety purpose or something? Not sure.

Wen the car is rolling and in motion, and u flick it into Neutral, then yeah you can rev it to redline if u wanted to. Its just how it is with our cars

    Hey Stephen,

Thanks for the feedback, good to know it's not just me.

Has anyone checked their Air/Fuels after installing this CAI kit with factory ECU map ?

Hi Shane - I had my Golf R dyno'd shortly after fitting the VW Racing intake. See the link below. The blue line is the car with the VWR intake and stock ecu mapping. The red line shows the difference once the Bluefin file was loaded onto the car (immediately after - no other changes). I have since had the Bluefin file adjusted as it was running too rich, but I haven't been back to the dyno again yet. See here >> http://www.vwgolf.net.au/showthread....-s......Golf-R

Hey guys, do all the intakes require drilling into the silicon tubing for DV air. Noticed on some American forum his already had the part fitted to the tubing

Ahh that's awesome. That would save a bit of time. I'll have to ask the apr guys and see if most of the stock is arriving with the dv bung installed

hey guys, based on experience, what tools do you recommend to get the two spring clips off ( at turbo and the one at the inlet scoop). I hopefully get my intake friday and install Sat so hoping I have the right tools at home

Hey Brandon I used a long nose vice grip. The hardest bit to remove is the clamp holding the diverter pipe to the inlet tube. What I did with my brother was taking the tube out first and we just yanked and angled the clamp to pull the hose off. Once you get it off dont use it again just buy a cheap screw clamp itll cost you a dollar or two makes it quicker to remove if you ever need to put the stock parts back.

You'll need set of star allen keys and also small hex alen keys i mean really small!

Dv bung should be precut and installed already by vwr. I got mine from Ian and it was already done! I think it got revised with the new silver logo.
Stock tune : 165.9 kw atw, 303nm @ mainline dyno stock
    DNA stage 1 : 192.5 kw atw, 360nm @ powertune fairfield +vwr intake
