Just an update on this. Its been 12 months / 8,000km and the pads are still fantastic. Have done a couple of spirited drives down the Pacific Highway and havent had any brake fade (although you dont use the brakes too much through there).

I also have a mate with a Mk5 GTi and another friend with a Golf R running these pads with no issues.

Hey did you consider the hawk performance ceramic pads? If so why remsa over the hawks? Also are you aware of what brake compound is used in the Remsa pads?

No i didnt really consider any brand of pad in particular. I got in touch with GSL Rallysport and asked what i could use that would give me reduced dust and rotor wear, but still work as an good daily pad. I dont track the car so i didnt need anything super dooper amazing. The Remsa are rated to 650 degrees.

They highly recommended the Remsa pads, and said that they have many customers using them in Porsches / Lambo's etc. As for the compound, im not sure but im sure the guys at GSL Rallysport can give you that info:

Thanks Lucas i'm in just trying to do some research on what pads I should acquire next.... Hawks Performance Ceramic retain the wear sensor as well so that is why i'm interested and saw this thread and so are the Remsa nothing I can find on the rated temperature rating the Hawk performance ceramics are but 650 should suffice for the occasional track day as well imho anywhere from 550-650 is optimal. Remsa also seem to be a fair bit cheaper than the hawk performance ceramic.

Yes the Remsa pads have the wear sensor (refer pics on page 1). Cost was around $240 for all the pads.

I've never taken the car to the track so not sure how they will perform in that situation. But day-to-day driving and some twisty mountain driving I did over the weekend they are great. My real only reason for changing the pads was for reduced dust and rotor wear - which these pads do brilliantly. Give them a try if your still running stock pads.
