Thanks mate, that is the plan - subtle and really high quality mods that make it a special but not over the top car.

Second best backside in our household. This one has more bling though!

And new Weber goodness. Epic improvement even on the stock 1.6. I have just dropped a about half the original purchase price of the car on around 1/3 of the very special components for the new 16v build. So this is a temporary measure.

Put some crystal headlights on this morning.

    It's an improvement.

Very nice cars. The Mk1 looks very clean and the wheels are not over the top. Just classy. As for the Imp.. looks like it would be a fun drive. I really like the wheels on it especially the rear offset. I know how hard it can be keeping and older car as I have a 73 Landau. Now go harass the kids B)

    Thanks for the encouragement.

So I've been fiddling about and it turns out the weber is a DFEV which is a mirror image of the one commonly installed on the Golfs being DGEV. All the same some lateral thinking, rotating 180 degrees on the manifold and reversing a DGEV bracket I've pretty much sorted it.

There was a LOT of oil in the filter from the breather so I tossed on a catch can that was floating about in the shed as well temporarily.

In other news the Imp is having the starter reconditioned and I just did the brakes all round (yep guys, if you thInk you need a brake upgrade, this bad boy rocks 9" drums all round)!

Cheers man. The wheels are older than most users on this forum! ;-)
