I just thought of something I completely overlooked.

Are mk5 keys laser encoded or something of the sort? I ask cause my uncles z3 has laser encoded keys and the mk5 is alot younger than that.

If so does this mean I would have to swap in the dash?

Or would a standalone ecu take care of this?

Negatory. Engine I bought was stuffed. Didn't have coin to rebuild it so I just put another 12v in.

I'm looking at syncro swap or Just buying a R32 however.
