The other 40% is probably what kind of whooshy noises it makes

Lucas you should know being in the raw materials industry how different materials handle heat transfer. The cross linked poly does the best job of whats available. A: in tests and B: in science.
To be more specific the heatsheild i am talking about is purely the 1 over the exhaust manifold.

For the record. NO intake is fully sealed. The engine would work.

At the end of the day an intake isnt going to be night and day like a K03 vs GTX3071 turbo but there are some small advantages or disadvantages to all.

All im doing is passing on the info ive learnt and the results i have. Thats it.

i reckon that no matter how good an intake is, 60% of it is cosmetics that attracts people.
Haha - yes but im in marketing, im not a metallurgist. The dense plastic would do a better job of heat transfer control than a metal pipe without a doubt. And when i am saying "sealed" i am also saying sealed from the engine, not completely sealed of course.

And yes, i knew you meant the heatsheild above the turbo, but Leigh is talking about the shield for the actual airfilter on the Evoms i believe.

    GTX3017r are stupid hahahahah.
I was talking about the intake cover. It works and like you said nothing can stop heat soak but the car is moving 95% of the time so its getting air flow. Cover everything in heat shields and wrap it. I would be if i had a metal pipe hell i might just go do my shitty evoms intake since i have some lying round.
