I have a love hate relationship with my Sigma 50mm. Love the image quality and bokeh, hate the missed focus.

Saving up takes a while but buy once buy right!

If its daytime and well lit my favourite is probably my 24-105L (great range to walk around with)
All other times its probably the 35L (that took a fair bit of saving!) makes you move around but its pretty amazing, and you can pretty much shoot in the dark with ISOs these days.

Yeah I had the same problem with mine, except it back-focused constantly Very hit and miss with Sigma but I love their build quality and feel. My 30mm and 10-20mm don't have problems fortunately.

I'll get my hands on an L some day!!

    Really? the sigma 50 1.4?
I use that like evryday, on all wedding shoots and short films.
I actually sold my canon 1.2 to get that one. I compared it and there was not a difference at all apart from the apperture. the Sharpness level was the same. It focuses so much faster with the sigma.....and its LIGHTER!

Yeah, I couldn't sell it for that though, knowing it's got a faulty autofocus.

Sigma lenses normally have focus problem, just send it back to them under warranty with your camera so they can re-calibrate the lens.
Luckily my 30mm is fine although canon lenses focus are way better, no comparison.

no problem with mine so far
As long as its fixable im happy to buy sigma from now on. well at least its 3 times faster the AF than the Canon 1.2 L of both 50mm and 85mm and dont get me started in the 85mmL of canon, the most piece of junk Canon has ever made. A weird AF motor that runs full time even when you're on MF and the to focus the glas goes all the way to the front then all the way to the back THEN in focus....haha yeh I'll take the sigma 85mm any day over that.
