golf mk4 sport - any good?

im interested in getting a 2004 VW Golf Sport 4th Gen 2.0 in black and with Auto transmission, and was just wondering what people thought of them? also if theyre any good, what theyre like to drive and anything else people could tell me.

    cheers.

My mother has one - purchased new & has had no issues, then again it's only done 12k km's...

Handles well, good on fuel, pretty sluggish off the line

They are great cars but the Sport bit is false advertising. Just means Alloy wheels and some stickers. There's nothing really sporty about them in performance terms. If you want a sporty MK4 & can afford it get a GTI if you want a regular, reliable, well made, frugal hatch. Get the sport.

Re: Dubber. Chip won't do you much good, not enough power in the first place to make it feel faster. Try exhaust/headers first and then maybe a chip.

I have 1 its a nice neat car put 18s on it drop it 1.5 at front and 2.5at the back because the back comes an inch higher factory so u r able to have a straight car 2.0ltr sport people dont think theres difference but the actual ecu of the car is same as the gti.

If you do a ecu reflush you will notice a difference
