I ordered the car in December 2010, and the car was manufactured at the end of Jan 2011 and delivered in April 2011.

Here it is, fresh into the dealerships holding yard:

And here it is two days later, ready to roll:

Dont die of shock guys. That 3rd pedal is a clutch (for all you DSG lovers)

    VW Racing intake

DNA Tuning hand controller and dyno sheet

New aluminium oil filter cannister from ECS Tuning installed on the weekend along with a ECS magnetic oil drain plug (installed while i did the cars first oil change).

    A couple of new shots:

Yeh id like to do a few more things Joy. Id like to try and get 200kw out of it - so ill need a dump pipe, fuel pump and stage 2 Bluefin tune to do that. Will also get a 42DD catch can soon. Not going to go crazy with mods - never been into that. And i wont change the cat back section of the exhaust either - its loud enough and flows well from the factory. My aim is to keep the car 100% reliable at all times, as well as refined and comfortable. Plus im not made of money......unfortunately.

Wouldn't mind lowering it about 20-30mm with some springs (for looks only). And ill continue doing little cosmetic things to it, to improve the way it looks and personalise it over time.

Nice mate! That oil filter canister seems like a good little addition! Did you end up getting the magnetic sump plug with the copper washers or aluminium?

Yeah that confirms it...most DSG Golf R's were making approx 155-157 ish kw atw. Manual Golf R's make approx 10kw more it seems.

Also, with your TT-S cover, how the hell did you remove the 2 bolts from the engine to replace with the longer audi ones?! I tried to do it yesterday but MAN theyre on there TIGHT!!!

The bolts were not overly tight on mine Stephen. But they have a rubber seal thing on them which tends to stick to the tappet cover. I undid the bolts and then used a flat blade screwdriver to pry the bolts up and out. If you look at your new bolts, you will see the rubber seal thing im talking about.

The oil filter cannister is nice. I mainly got it to make servicing at home easier (less mess when changing the oil filter) as I will do 1x "at home" service in between each yearly service. In addition to the benefit of draining the oil, the aluminium ECS cannister will be far more durable that the standard plastic item. Also, the valve at the bottom of the standard oil cannister is quite prone to leaking.

The ECS drain plug came with a silver washer on it (i assume its alloy) but also came with 10x spare additional washers which are gold in colour, so i assume those ones are copper. But they arent as "copper" in colour to other copper ones i have.

I recommend the Weitec Hicon GT coilovers: stock comfort, adjustable height, better than just springs, not too expensive, check out my build thread for Nabsta's Coilover Pics

Thanks David - yes i was looking at your thread the other day. Your car sits at a nice height - about where id like mine to sit. I'll look into the Weitec's.
