I will soon also find out, I ordered a full system with resonator, but only installing the cat-back initially until I have put a few more kms on it (I don't want warranty rejected because the tail shaft had to come out or something).

Not a bad idea Tony - how many km are you up to?

The cat back is an easy DIY job if you have axle stands and jack etc.

Yeah thanks Lucas - second guessing a decision is a bitch

3400km... hehe. They have factored the cat-back fitting into the price (not full fitting as it takes a couple more hours), I guess due to the simplicity of install.
I got a new bluefin map the other day when I sent them a few of the printouts from our dyno day and remarked that mine appeared to run quite a bit richer than some of the other stage1s, and it was a bit of a dog the first day after flashing, I thought I might have had to beg them to get the old tune back... but noticed (as I had just fitted a Podi boost gauge a couple of days before flashing) that it was boosting to 25psi... after a couple of days it felt good again, and it is only boosting to where it was before, about 22psi, so it seems it has to "tune itself" a little after a flash. It is going like a rocket with these nice cool evening temps now, but it is still highly variable. I can part throttle 2nd gear sometimes and it will feel like it is about to launch into orbit, but if I do a floor it from 1st to 2nd 80 or 90km/hr, it will feel like a dog sometimes in 2nd gear (maybe I am over-revving 1st so 2nd is already past the big torque bump, where as approaching from lower RPM in 2nd it really gives a nice push...)... so unpredictable compared to the old WRXy. But generally it pushes nicely, and for a wide rev range, so can't complain too much.

Had Milltek Non Resonated cat back put on the Rocco yesterday
Here is my 5 cents worth.

On Start up: Great! very meaty and deep, really like that.

Daily Drive: Personally i think it abit loud at Low Rpm, there is a fair bit of cabin noise between 2-3k rpm when u taking off from traffic light or on and off throttle during traffic, when you off throttle the noise is gone, but with a slight hint of throttle the noise returns and can hear it in the cabin. especially with DSG sound like an automatic with a loud muffler, bit too fast and furious. But as the rpm increases the drone decrease to a nice deep hum (weird, make me wanna skip the 1st few thousand revs). But definately not the best for daily driving.

WOT: Great! sounds deep and meaningful. really really like that.

My question is will the will the drone get any better after a few weeks of driving? Thinking getting resonater put it if becomes too annoying.

I dunno if the Rocco has a similar config to the Golf R one, but my resonated cat back is great, not too loud at all, maybe a very subtle bit more than stock until the engine is roaring (4000rpm full throttle) where it gets a bit louder.

Carbon build up will reduce cabin noise a little but not considerably. See how you go.

I had the non-resonated on my GTI and thought it was a little too quiet. The intake was louder!!!

Came here to say this, this also differs from brand to brand with materials, bends, width, size etc.

Also everyone has different tastes, quiet for some might be too loud for others!
