You have to....if you need to justify some big hours on the job. Get them to do a carbon clean while they are at it.
Actually it would be cheaper to fly Goran down there and back and have him do it in half an hour
Help! Now they want to remove the intake manifold! aaagghhh

Successfully installed my HPFP today but unfortunately (frustratingly) failed at the rail valve…
As I have very limited knowledge of cars, I would really appreciate some advice from those that have successfully installed it.
1.) I’m unsure which one of the hoses was the PCV? Is it the one circled in red below??
2.) Bought some crappy crow’s feet spanners from supercheap and it just couldn’t fit over the valve as it was too thick – I noticed there were ‘things’ in the way on either side. I managed to get the fuel line off of the valve though….
3.) Even though the fuel line on the bottom right of the fuel pump was already off (as I was changing to HPFP), I can’t see the benefit of doing this? I’m assuming it’s the one circled in blue??
4.) How strong can a cut ring end of the spanner be? I’m worried that it might shred the valve??
Any advice would be great!

(Hope you don’t mind me using your photo’s ozmale )
Woops, posted twice.
Bump..dd..bump!
I havent done mine yet but looking at this foto of the underside of the manifold it seems to me that what some one (Goran?) says about a crows foot socket and the right length extension will get around the inlet housing and on to the pipe / valve after any thing that gets in the way is moved or removed.
Not sure who owns the photo - Fab, Tarmac?

Thanks Baz - After posting the same question in another thread, it would seem that my questions weren't terribly clear - I've just added questions to Goran's steps below which hopefully make more sense.
QUOTE=Gogi;146364]Cameron,
Get yourself 3 open end/Ring spanners (Open end one side, ring on the other) in 14mm and 2 x 17mm. You need a Torx Bit (From memory a T27), 4mm & 10mm sockets, Hose Clamp Pliers, Stubby Nose Pliers, Claw pickup tool. That is all the tools you need.
Now, you need to modifiy two of the ring/open ended spanners, the 14mm and one 17mm. You need to bend the ring end of the spanner up 90 degrees approx 1 inch from the end and then cut a slot into the ring so that it can slide over the fuel lines.
That is all, once you have made those two spanners you will be good to go!
1.) Remove Engine cover or any other intake that runs down next to the fuel pump or near the DV.
2.) Unbolt the DV from it's bracket (one silver torx bolt), undo the hose clamp on the Throttle body pipe and move the DV out of the way.
3.) Remove the DV Bracket from the intake manifold (10mm and 4mm socket)
4.) Using 2 x 17mm Open ended spanners, undo the fuel line on the bottom right of the fuel pump
5.) Unclip the PCV Hose that goes from teh manifold down next to the pump Where is this PCV hose? Is it visible from the photo??
6.) Using the 14mm modified Ring spanner, undo the fuel line going to the valve and move out of the way. Is this done from below? i.e why you remove the DV + bracket??
7.) Using the 17mm modified Ring spanner, undo the valve and take out. (Make sure you shove a rag in uder the valve first to not only absorb the fuel that may leak, but also stop the valve from falling down into the cavities of the engine block, trust me, if that happens you will be cursing for a month!) Does this relate to step 4? Do you remove the fuel return valve from this 'side access'??
Obviously the installation is the reverse procedure...
I will edit this procedure next w/e with better descriptions and photos when i finally get around to actually doing my own valve![/QUOTE]
Got my HPFP installed. Its ticking like a bitch. Anyone had this issue?
