Assuming you have found the module under the plastic windscreen cowl, just right(drivers side) of the midline...there is a T shaped plastic tab sticking out the module(drivers side orientation). Pull it out to the side, it slides about half an inch and the plug falls away.

I just covered the plug with duct tape then wrapped it with foam tape and wedged it in. I will pull it apart again and do the job properly and remove the module and sound actuator later. Just wanted to try it out.

Looking at the actuator (up under the middle of the cowl), the cable is entering it on the rear right side, i.e. passenger side for us. I couldn'tfind the control unit though, it isn't to the left of the ecu like it is in LHD cars. It was relatively easy to unclip on the actuator using a very long screwdriver, you kind of push on the little grey retention clip and then it just pops off.

The difference is quite staggering in my R! Nice to hear induction sounds instead of fake firewall/windscreen resonances under hard acceleration! (I just did this mod last night).

i dont mind the sound while im stock .. gives me some exhaust noise inside when there is none outside lol

Hmm might give this a go over the weekend. Also going to re-enable my exhaust flapper valve because im sick of the drone around town.

AFAIK it was only introduced in 2011+ models.
