Yeh got myself an ISO plug and made myself a Pioneer/ISO interface, everything is connected up, plugged it in and it worked perfectly first time, did some dodgy wiring to allow a DVD/Navigation bypass so I can have a DVD playing while driving for passengers. now all I need to do is make is pull out the blank plate, replace section with a double din cage, run wires for my reversing camera and thinking while I have the centre console somewhat dismantled re colour my trim pieces, thinking of getting them done in a brush aluminium instead of the wood grain.

So had myself a bit of fun, decided to do a good job than a lazy job, so pulled pretty much the whole dash out to run the cables properly, and removed rear bumper for rear view camera.

Getting all the trim painted while its out, thinking of getting all trim pieces done in brush aluminium, will upload photos of headunit when trim is back in.
VERY happy with the upgrade of headunit, sound is so much better, have my ipod again and the bluetooth is really good through speakers.
Also, voice activated functions are pretty cool, makes making a phone call a lot easier.

Actually, will put some more high quality phone pics up of the headunit, just took them so excuse night time low quality but you'll get the idea,
    Main Menu

Reverse Camera in night mode (better than I thought although photo doesn't really do it justice)

Did the camera came with the unit?
Can be upgraded? Maybe if you have plate LEDs lights will improve the quality?

In any case it's an awesome mod!!

I ended up just buying myself an after aftermarket camera :P as the pioneer reversing camera was $500 from america (get real)
This is Sony's best reversing camera ($150), unfortunately photo was taken on a 2 year old phone, will whip out the DSLR tomorrow and get some good quality pictures, just wanted to put something up after a long fun day of pulling things apart and then remembering where every bolt goes, luckily for me this is the 3rd car I've pulled apart so got a decent system now and had zero remaining bolts once it went back together
So overall, reverse camera is a great little extra (even though it is a small car and I probably don't need a reversing camera, but why not :P)
It comes on when reverse is selected seamlessly so very impressed with this pioneer headunit overall, lots of gadgets to figure out still.

Next step is to make custom splash screen that Has Pioneer, VW GOLF GTI and a cool backdrop when I find the motivation

On a side not, Anyone know any companies to do any form of trim painting, wanting a good finish?
    Cheers

Havn't updated in a while so this is the progress report.
    - I did a 3M brushed aluminium vinyl wrap on my interior trim to finish off that radio I installed.
    - Just this morning installed my Unibrace XB will add pictures tomorrow
    - My parter ordered me a Diesel Geek short shifter for my birthday so should have that installed mid June
    - Have to make some time to go back to John from Tigersoft, tune is almost done, just getting some misleading information from Viezu and turns out we have to scan the actual ECU and they'll write us a tune then John will put that on a new ECU. been a long process but nearly there

And thats about it, will put some hi res photos up of my headunit/trim/unibrace when I find the time.
