RTR - 'Carbon' package for Golf R

RTR are proud to announce the RTR Carbon package for the Mk 6 Golf R.

After running with this package on our car for quite some time and having completed the final leg in our reliability testing, we are now proud to release the RTR Carbon package for the Golf R to the VWGolf.net.au community.

But what does the RTR Carbon package for the Mk 6 Golf R consist of and what gains are to be had? Okay, so no smoke or mirrors actual befores and afters on the Dyno. Note: High Pressure Fuel Pump NOT required

    Ingredients are:
    • RTR in house tuning
    • RTR Stainless Steel Turbo Back Exhaust
    • VW Racing Intake

$3,900 including all labor to fit parts, dyno tuning with before and after dyno graphs.

Nice figures and nice for the Melbournians to have yet another tuner close by (im jealous...)

Do you guys use the same exhaust you helped develop for XForce?

What's the cost for this package?

Lucas, I've added the total fitted price to the bottom of the thread, and yes it's the very same exhaust with the 85mm large mouth dump pipe, twin muffler system that we worked along side Xforce with.

Just to add to this, the RTR Golf R is available to test drive so you can 'try before you buy'.
Just be sure to ring and book first. If you just turn up, you'll be disappointed.

And remember, free loan cars available while all work is carried out.

LOL We make it a habit not to give out loan cars that have a roll cage in them. But, if you happen to be there on the right day you can have the R as a loan car.

Just a quick question, does the torque seem a little low for the mods that have been done?

Frazza, that's the idea of posting up a dyno graph. So someone can ask good questions.

In short, yes that's the expected Torque with those parts (and here comes the important part) with the boost we are running. 18psi is what we are running in our car currently, and that's the outcome. If we added some more boost, say 3-4 psi which would bring us up to boost levels that are equal to what seema to be common practise in general with these cars. What we have done with boost currently is maintain it at mid range and higher rpm ranges. I guess coming from Evo X's as you well know, tighter boost control is a good thing with any 4WD Turbo Car.

From the literally dozens of VW Golf GTI, R and even Skodas we've had on the dyno, I've seen the usual VW'esque torque bubble appear at low RPM. It his somewhere around the 350-390Nm mark dependent on boost applied at the time, then it falls away at mid to high RPM. Boost and Torque with any Turbo charged car always follow similar gradients on a dyno chart. So while a Torque bubble at a low rpm might be lower, overall the Torque is more stable and higher right across the rev range.

Most of the gains we have currently can be attributed to the timing and fuel maps we've been modifying, granted upping the boost will see bigger numbers both in Power and Torque, but Boost control is something we have targeted and been working on for months with our own Golf R. The developement is really paying off but then with 194 dyno runs under it's belt and God knows how manys hours tuning on our Dyno, you'd expect that.

In other words (like what time said) just wait till we start screwing in some more boost.
