Is oil being consumed more rapidly than in the past? This should be a clear indication of whether the smoke is from oil burning or not.

I suppose the rocker cover has a separator to allow vapors out only, and if broken, oil could go through. My earlier discussion of pvc broken isn't quite right, if that was broken you would have a big vacuum/boost leak.
Did it again last night. Smelt the oil in the smoke, really bad smoke this time, and then when I pulled up, it smelt like after a train hits the brakes, real pungent hot metal on metal smell. This was after driving from Milperra to Sydney during peak hour, arriving in the city at 1900.
any update / verdict?

It's at Waitara,
They're changing the injectors as they were leaking, causing it to run rich and the ECU had basically set itself to stay rich somehow. (No tune or anything, only mod was to cut some baffling from the intake opening pre filter and a rear exhaust box delete).
Coming up to 3 days now! damn their loan cars are expensive!!!
They replaced the injectors and it still smokes like a 40 a day granny! Going to perform a leak down test. Apparently VWA say they have not seen this before. Anyone?
I'm having issues with my 118tsi too. Currently looking at having the PCV system replaced. My car is using about 1ltr per 1000km. Intake is full of oil, supercharger is full of oil. and the intake valve is playing up from all the oil going through it. The car gets into limp mode and wont go over 3,000rpm. I thought a compression test was done on it but it wasn't The car has lost low down torque, and if you step on it above say 2000rpm when not in limp mode it feels like its drowning and losing boost, but then kicks in above 3000rpm. The mechanic said the sparkplugs are covered in oil too...
I'm getting blue smoke on the over runs, so not constant, and not dependent on wether the engine is cold or warm. Oh, and VW don't want to know about it - they charged me $300 because they said it was my fault, that I had thrashed it....
Got the call the car is ready.
They thought Bad fuel. Drain tank and fuel sample. All ok.
Leaky injectors- replaced still smokes.
Replaced cat near the turbo- noticed turbo is cracked, leaking oil onto and out of the exhaust. Replaced turbo/cat and gaskets. Smoke cured... for now!
just need to collect it on Monday! Bloody hell! What a palaver!
