Greg - How high are your guards from the ground. I had them at about 628mm which isn't that low.

Jig - I'm still running on OEM's. No, not the fenders. Every now and then when I corner into a dip it will rub against the fenders. The driveshaft rubbing issue I first noted at very slow speeds and raised it with my mechanic when it went in for a service on Friday and he told me what it was. It's only lowered about 30mm at the fronts. I spoke to them about the fender mod, but he said it would only give me another 2mm?

Any reason why you didn't go all out and put the cambers tops in? Didn't need it?

Clubsports are great coilovers, just be aware that they have very little travel and if you are driving on some twisty mountain roads which are anything less than perfect you will have to be very careful!

As the name suggests, clubsport coilovers are generally for those weekend track enthusiasts. I believe for the kind of "trailer type racing" that Tony is suggesting, a more serious set-up would work better. This is still for the enthusiast!

Edit - When you said you could get them landed for $2,800 tax inclusive, do you mean $2,800 and dodging import tax?
I don't know of anybody who would sell KW Clubsports in the states for $2,200 + shipping + tax (which is what it would work out to be if you were actually paying tax on the coilovers).

I believe the best price I got quoted locally when looking was $3,400 which is a good price to pay for warranty and peace of mind (peace of mind also that you won't get smoked by customs when you try and dodge the goods' value on the customs docs).
Ask RTR for a quote, they're a KW dealer now!

Contact Chris Preen at TPR Engineering and see what he can quote. You may be surprised. At least you dont have to buy the ACC delete adapters with your KW Clubsports.

Clem - I got in contact with the person you mentioned. The best he would do me was around $2350, but the shipping was killer as it came from the factory to his workshop then he had to ship it out to Aus as opposed to going straight from factory to Aus. At the time I asked for the price, the dollar was around 1.06... now it's just gone to sh1t. It worked out to be around $3k including customs tax.

I thought the risk wasn't worth it in regards to dodging customs tax.

Did you install the camber plates on yours before you sold it? If so, did you have holes cut? Looking at your photos of your old car, it looks like your old one sits even lower than mine at the front, yet I'm still rubbing. I don't know what is going on.

Will give TPR Engineering a quot.. with the dollar going to crap, there isn't much difference between buying local and overseas now.

Did not get around to installing the camber plates because I was not planning on going all out with camber. Its seems weird you are getting driveshaft issues with this coil overs as I have never had those problems. Hope your mechanic sorts that out soon. You will love the clubsports. I have taken my car to Putty Road, OPH with it and the suspension is close to perfection.

I had camber plates and yes the strut tops were cut (very professional work done by RTR, they even sanded and painted the tops).

Depends on what wheel / tyre combo you're running. I had a tiny bit of rubbing with my old V3's but with the clubbies I was fine.

    I was running 18x8 ET42 with Pirelli P-zero's.

Hmm. Yeah I'm not sure why it's rubbing against the driveshaft either. I'm thinking of seeing an actual professional suspension shop to get a verdict. I just want something that slams! V1's go about 35mm.. I'm looking for around 45-50mm clearance and I've heard this can be achieved with the Clubsports...Maybe even Vogtlands. I just don't want to sacrifice quality build like Kw's for an inferior brand in order to sit lower.

    Any other good aftermarket options?

You weren't lying... He is still getting back to me, but rrp of $3299 isn't too bad with 2 years warranty.

Turns out that rubbing sound I was talking about is still there after getting raised so it's definitely not a height issue. Really hope my driveshaft isn't about to go.

If all you want is low, clubsports aren't the coilover for you.

Hell, V3's will go lower than you can clear. If you want the clubsports it's for the camber and you can get aftermarket camber plates for a lot of coilovers.
