Yup, normal.
From a standing start, very hard acceleration in manual mode (DSG) is it normal for a plume of 'smoke' from tail pipe. Not sure on colour, would assume black from excess amount of or very rich fuel being burnt quickly. Happened last night from lights, saw it in trailing cars head lights, only seemed to happen of the line. Anyone know this is normal or not?

Never owned a turbo car before i take it? Completely normal. Its excess fuel being dumped. A tune will lean it out a bit (they run quite rich stock) and you wont notice it as much after a tune.
my car is alot more fuel efficient after a tune, i get around 600km to a tank and i drive it quite "uneconomically"
Just wait till you change the down pipe. Wait for more.![]()

When i spool i dump a cloud of soot and then bye bye, you should go behind a TDI on a drive day... its like a james bond style smoke screen even with a stock 103TDI!
