Don't get me started on APR. Look past the glossy ads on magazines.
Go and get the trial tunes before committing. Look at the prices. Than decided.

Went in there last week and after reading this thread, tried to be unbiased because have been looking at getting a tune and their my local APR dealer but I found them to be very unprofessional. Was told I would get around 250kw after Stage 1 v3.1 which I don't think is very realistic.

You wont get anywhere near 250kw with just a stage 1 APR flash. More like 220-225kw max.

And bear in mind those figures are quoted at the engine - take 25-30% off for the power at the wheels.

My car made 204kw at the wheels with stage 1 DNA tune, intake and downpipe. 204kw at the wheels equates to around 240-245kw at the engine.

hi Lucas, like your 204KW @ wheels, how fast will be 0-100KMPH? cos the book figure for 0-100 is 5.7s, and im just wondering how much faster it will be ? possible under 5s? : )

Hi Jason, the 5.7 second time you have quoted is for the DSG models, the manuals are more like 6.2 seconds.

i havent tested the 0-100kph time since getting the DNA tune. When my car had a different brand of tune (Bluefin) i managed a 5.8 second 0-100kph time - this was about 6 months ago. Bear in mind that my car is a manual so its not as fast to accelerate as a DSG. A time of 5.2 - 5.5 seconds is probably a realistic time for my manual car. If it was DSG then it would probably be around 4.5 - 4.7 seconds.

Thanks for sharing lucas, even 4.7 (DSG) will be great, but im still thinking on Flash to stag 2 and Milltec turbo back......

Cool. Mines just a stage 1 tune at the moment although ive added a dump pipe and intake which makes me ready for stage 2. If you want similar power/torque to my car, get in touch with John at DNA tuning, for $880 you can get your choice of two tunes plus a hand controller. john@dnatuning.com.au
