Not bad for its size tho, but I wouldn't be getting under the car!
to replicate the effect you'd have to push the pedal extremely fast to at least 50% throttle, and then fast, but not quite as fast as before to say 70-75%, and then a bit slower to say 85% - all in the time it takes me to push my pedal down 20-25% max

Its pretty shitty but for stableness changing tyres is not that bad. I used it once changing tyres to the spare. It did a good job for being side of the road. But i just have a jack stand instead of another jack. Jack it up using this. Pop a jack stand in so its stable. Then after u finish jack it up pop stand out and jack it down. Voila!

If that's the standard VW assist I don't believe they will change a tyre, only arrange a tilt tray to take your car to a service centre. I haven't used it but don't believe it's a RAC (RACV, RACQ) arrangement - I'm happy to stand corrected however.

I've been meaning to get one of these to keep in the boot and ditch the older one: http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/onl...88#Description

I (like most others) have a trolley jack at home with stands and so far haven't needed to use the OEM one. I also carry a can of puncture repair in the boot too but if I need to change a right hand side tyre in the country on a gravel verge or on the side of the Fwy I'll be exploring every other option available to me beforehand. I'd also suggest carrying a heavy piece of plywood, timber or aluminium to put under the base of the jack if ever needed.

I had a flat tyre once parked on a really cambered road side. Called NRMA so so they'd have a sturdier jack than the widowmaker. Felt ridiculous but didn't want to risk a disaster.

Using this particular jack must be on as level ground as possible, that's the key & will work as good as anything else.
