    Oh, I missed that bit.

In that case, it's all on the dealer.

Was it Bill Buckles warranty ?

Their dealer provided warranty has a lot of conditions from memory.

Yeah its their premium used car warranty. The maximum amount per claim is 2k, with unlimited number of claims for 3 years. Hence why I paid around 1.5k for the mechatronics. They chipped in the extra 2k.

From what you have said you have a great chance to sit down with the guys and work something out to your benefit especially with the mech unit replacement as history.

If it was Denlo, forget it. I'll never buy off them ever again.

Sorry for jacking up an old thread, but I am having the exact same problem. Spent at least half my day for the past week trying to get any info on the internet,
Did the clutch pack solved the issue?

Id spoken with George after the clutch pack, he had said that it hadn't really fixed the issue.

I can confirm that the clutch pack did not make much of a difference, if any at all.

    I've learnt to ignore it.

its not a common problem on all dsg cars its only because people will come here or any other site and only post their bad experiances not usually the good.
In saying that ANY DSG car can be affected. I tested a few cars and one did have something going on but the rest were fine.

    You have a point there.
I test drove one last weekend, had it on S mode & it made a thump on first gear as I was going.
Im seeing another one this weekend but I dont want to fork out a couple of grand in repairs after purchasing the car

fair call but you have to remember that its not like a normal auto and will feel a little more jerky or thumpy.
as an example my wifes cars has cvt auto and you cant feel that thing shift but god dam is it slow!
A little bit is ok but heaps is bad. Best way to tell is find a small hill and reverse up it slowly if it cant handle this then there is a possable problem but have a look here, vwwatercooled and google for more in depth things to look for.
