    Servicing in Perth area

Hey fella's. Quick question..... where do you guys think is the best place to service golf's in Perth? I bought the car from VW in Mandurah but the quote for my first (15000km) service was $450 and I can't see where value is in what is essentially a simple service!

Can anyone share any experiences or advice on where to get a good service at a reasonable price???

    Cheers!!!

    Andrew

Hi Andrew! I bought mine from Barbagallo Mandurah too I decided to go with them for my 15k a couple of weeks ago because I work in Mandurah and going up to Perth would involve taking a leave day. I was happy with it and was charged $418. Matthew gave me the remaining VW window cleaning fluid bottle and I got a courtesy car for the morning.

I'll probably stick with them unless given a reason not to in the future.

Where abouts do you live Andrew? For independents that can do service book servicing there is Golfwagen in Wanagara http://www.golfwagen.com.au/ or Quatrro motors in Burswood http://www.yellowpages.com.au/wa/bur...4-listing.html

Most of the dealer service charges are likely to be similar, I bought mine from Wangara and had it serviced there a few times (pricey compared to independents) and after they scratched my rim at the last service I probably won't go back there. Service was reasonably good but not good enough to encourage me to go back.

    Cheers
    Chris

If you're going to go dealer - go see Nick Phelps at John Hughes VW Service on Swansea St in Vic Park.

Still dealer prices - but service is as good as you'll get anywhere (and better than almost everywhere else too!)

Chers Chris! Been here a little while just a lurker though

Yeah I can't see the value for money in $450 for a service so don't think I will go dealer. I got a quote from Golfwagen (now euro elite) for $300 but I am all the way in Baldivis so will have to see what they say the turn around is. I can get up there early arvo and wait for it on Fridays.
Might try Quattro motors as well and see what they say :-)

    Cheers for the idea's fellas!!!

Haha, driven that a few times. I let him know that lucky the indicators were working fine as i did a few unintended lane changes at 100km/h on the freeway - I think the front end is a bit loose Lol.
I think he has a Getz now, a little more sturdy but nowhere near as much character

    ^^ THIS!

Nick is a top bloke and he will take pretty good care of you. You pay dealer rates but the customer service is second to none. The workmanship is good but nothing mind blowing, but as long as the car is under warranty I'll be going back to them.

But it's not common practice to have a free loan car while yours is being service .. is it?

If so, I have been getting jibbed over the years with Skipper, Auto Classics and now back at Skipper!

Ha ha ha!!! You do realise that servicing your car elsewhere doesn't void your warranty right?? It's a common misconception that you need to take you car back to your dealer during the warranty phase. That's were they make all their money!!!
