    Soundaktor yourself to sleep

I didn't know about the "Soundaktor" before last week.
I decided to remove it altogether, because the natural intake and exhaust tones are much better. While it may have been "exciting" to hear for someone having a showroom drive, once modified the mix of sounds is somewhat overwhelming, and I didn't realise just how much until it was disabled.
+1 My wife used my car to drive kids to rugby and she even commented it was quieter and more to her liking.

Now that it's out, what can I use it for?

A coffee table talking piece, nup.
    A paperweight, nup.
A noise generator to go to sleep with, nup.

There is no real use for it. I'd love to be able to connect it to an audio source and play the "sound" files that VW use from the ECU. Given that they are generated based on gear selection, throttle position, speed?, and $deity knows what other inputs, it's probably a complex thing to achieve.
I've googled and come up with nought.

Is there anyone out there, maybe with official VW experience, that can point me towards achieving this?

I also shouldn't be wasting time online as I still have SuperSprint preps to do. A full KW suspension to fit (Preeny has it being delivered Monday), a IE surge tank and Bosch 044 to plumb, a Snow Stage 3 Water Meth half installed, some rear bushes to swap, a new air box to construct, a lightweight battery to rear mount. And I still have to drive my 13yo to Sydney and back tomorrow as part of an ACT rugby team. Feck!

It would make a good hockey puck....

I recon the device would make noise depending on voltage given to it from the ECU. Thats my theory anyway. The voltage/amps etc would increase with RPM to make the device quieter or louder. Not sure if you would be able to replicate this through a speaker system??

Best of luck with your racing preparation.

Too right. I'm onto it now. Actually working on the HPA Haldex Gen 4 Controller at the moment. Not sure where best to mount the rotary switch.

Missed that use, It certainly has a bit of weight to it.

You coming down for it? I'm hoping there is a good watercooled turnout. Looks like Sammy won't make it this year. I wonder if Wooduck would lend him the white beast for a few laps.
